Bertha L. Horton Odom, 78, a native of Tallahatta Springs and a resident of the Phillipsville community of Bay Minette, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at Providence Hospital in Mobile.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, William L. “Bill” Odom Sr. of Phillipsville, a retiree of Alabama Power Co.; three children: Lawrence Wayne Phillips of Harlingen, Texas, Patricia Ann (John) Chambliss of Phillipsville and William L. “Billy” (Cynthia Lynn) Odom Jr. of Phillipsville; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ernest Junior Horton and Ernest Leonard Horton, both of Mobile; and sister, Beulah Mae Berga of Bellforest.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 26148 Capital Drive, Suite F, Daphne, AL 36526.
