Estelle Oakes, 81, a native of Virginia and a resident of Lillian, died Friday, Aug. 24 in Tuscaloosa.
She was a member of the Baycordes of Spanish Cove, the Optimist Club and the Angels.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Oakes of Lillian; sons, Rick (Debbie) Oakes of Woodstock, Ga., Bill (Cathy) Oakes of Orange Beach and Barry (Natalie) Oakes of Cypress, Texas; a daughter, Nancy (Kurt) McDonald of Howell, Mich.; sisters, Emma Sadowski of Foley and Joy Matte of Lillian; brother, Richard Weatherly of Howell, Mich.; nine grandsons, three great-granddaughters, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 27 and 28. The Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lillian.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
