J. Larry Newton’s Mrs. Patrice Wolfe,  Principal, and Mrs. Kimberly Randolph, attendance specialist  are outstanding examples of “can do” attitudes toward proactive and positive motivation for their students’ school attendance.  J. Larry Newton is just one of my (Dr Lorry Redditt, attendance officer) fifteen schools in the Southern area of Baldwin County and averages over 95% attendance each month.  Below are outstanding incentive ideas from J. Larry Newton.  

Attendance Motto:  “EVERYDAY-ALL DAY-ON TIME”

Attendance Incentives:

Week of March 7th thru 9th (Wed. thru Fri.) - “Here on time and all day and all week” and you will receive a “UNIFORM DAY OFF” ticket good for use on Monday, March 12th.  Tickets will be placed in teacher boxes along with a list of students that will receive the tickets.

Week of March 12th thru 16th - “Here on time and all day and all week” and you will qualify to be entered in a drawing to “GO TO LUNCH WITH THE PRINCIPAL”.  One student from each homeroom will be drawn on Friday 3/16.  Lunch date TBD.

Week of March 19th thru 23rd - “Here on time and all day and all week” and you will qualify to be entered in a drawing for “HOMEWORK PASSES”.  Each homeroom will be drawing for 2 passes.  One girl and One boy from each homeroom will earn a homework pass.  The drawing for the passes will take place on Friday, 3/23.  Passes will include disclaimer that some homework assignments may not be eligible.

Week of March 26th thru 30th = SPRING BREAK

Week of  April 2nd thru 5th & Monday April 9th - “Here on time and all day and all week” qualifies you to be entered in a drawing to play a “STUDENT vs TEACHER BASKETBALL or KICKBALL GAME”.  2 Separate Student Teams will be drawn.  Team 1 = K thru 3rd, & Team 2 = 4th thru 6th.  One student picked from each homeroom with 15 total on team 1 and 12 total on team 2.  Game day and time will be announced after testing.

Tuesday, April 10th  through Friday, April 13th - “Here on time and all day and all week” and you will receive a “POPCORN AND A MOVIE” pass.  Movie day and time TBD.  (Date will be after testing.)
