On Monday, March 28, 2016, Norbert Duane “Bert” Gade was welcomed home and wrapped in the arms of the Lord.
“I’ve got a story ...” He was born on Aug. 14, 1938 to Adolph and Lula Gade in Ada, Minn. He was a resident of Bon Secour for 21 years and Baldwin County for a total of 29 years.
He worked in construction for many years. Before, that he fought wildfires in Alaska and Wisconsin.
Bert was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Dorian Gade.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Cesarek Gade; his son and best buddy, Duane (DJ) Gade and his wife Mona (Young) Gade of Elberta; daughter, Andreen (Andi) Gade of Bon Secour; and his son, Lorin Gade of Minnesota; his granddaughter, Desiree’ Gade (Roy Truxillo) of Loxley; his great-grandchildren, Briana Reighn and Brice Rylan Morgan; and his “adopted daughter,” Becky Skelton of Foley, as well as her children, Mason Joseph and Madison Ann-Marie Skelton, who he thought of as his own; and a very special lifelong friend, Dewayne Schroeder “Prairie Gopher;” and his loving sister-in-law, Lois Tracey of Virginia, Minn.
Bert was a loving husband, daddy, paw paw and friend. He loved the outdoors and the many friends he made along the way.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 4, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley.
Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
