DAPHNE, Ala.—Troy Robert MacDonald, 43, of Fairhope, who was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with capital murder, will remain in jail as bond was denied in a hearing Wednesday morning.
District Judge Michelle Hart felt that the seriousness of MacDonald’s alleged crime did not warrant his temporary release from jail while he awaits trial.
“The charges were so severe, she would not set a bond,” a Baldwin County Corrections Center spokesperson said.
“He will remain in (jail) until something changes, but that’s highly unlikely.”
Prior to arrest, MacDonald was named a person of interest in the death of Brianna Parish, whose half-naked body was found Nov. 14 in woods near the Daphne Utilities sewage plant.
“The murder of Brianna was a horrendous act that took the life of a young woman,” Police Capt. Daniel Bell said in a press conference Monday afternoon.
MacDonald faces a capital murder charge that carries the possibility of the death penalty.
