SPANISH FORT — A Wednesday morning tour of the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta aboard the Blakeley State Park’s Delta Explorer will be held June 27 to accommodate mid-week out-of-town visitors and tourists, park officials announced.
The walk-on tour is open to passengers who purchase their tickets in advance and to last minute visitors on a first-come, first-serve basis. The tour leaves the Blakeley State Park dock on the Tensaw River at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 11:30 a.m.
Summer walk-on tours have been switched from afternoon to morning to avoid afternoon heat and possible thunderstorms and so that passengers can see more birds and wildlife.
The 50-passenger Delta Explorer also offers charter tours at any time for a minimum of 25 adults.
Blakeley State Park is located on Alabama Highway 225 about 4.5 miles north of its intersection with U.S. 31 at Spanish Fort.
Tickets for the eco-tour are $20 for adults, $10 for children 6-12 and free to children under 6.
For more information and to buy tickets call 626-5581.
Other summer tours are scheduled for the following dates:
•Wednesday, July 11;
•Saturday, July 21;
•Saturday, August 11;
•Wednesday, August 22;
•Saturday, September 15;

Special early morning tours are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 20-21 in connection with the Alabama Coastal BirdFest.
