The Elementary Teacher of the Year is Jenny Breazeale. This exceptional educator of eight years teaches fourth grade and has taught in both Baldwin County and Birmingham, Ala. She received her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Auburn University, master’s in elementary education from the University of Montevallo, and just recently finished her administrative certification from the University of South Alabama. She is married to Jimmy Breazeale and has a 2-year-old daughter, Emma Grace.
The Middle School Teacher of the Year is Mandy Hardy Green. Green has served students at Newton School as one of the special education teachers in the middle school. Green is a graduate of the University of South Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in collaborative education. This exceptional educator currently works as an inclusion teacher in the sixth grade in both literature and math classes.
Both of these professionals are trained in AMSTI (Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative) and include much hands-on instruction to engage the students while emphasizing the core content.
