FOLEY — South Baldwin County welcomed its first baby of 2013 on New Year’s Day.
At 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, 3-pound, 2-ounce boy by the name of Brantley Owens made his debut at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center to Foley residents Ronald McCord and Brittney Giles.
“We’re crazy excited,” Giles said.
But the baby’s entrance didn’t come without complications. His small stature comes from being born two months ahead of schedule. However, he is currently in the care of University of South Alabama Medical Center, where he is receiving the necessary strengthening nutrients.
Brantly is expected to be released from hospital care later this month.
