The 2024 summer season is here, and it is time to explore what's new in the Baldwin County food world.
The food scene in Baldwin County changes more than most teen boys change their socks, and it is a wonderful thing for food lovers. There are several new places on this list and some names you will recognize like Bahama Bob's. They are not new but after a devastating fire in July 2023 are once again open, refreshed and ready for another 25 years of serving residents and visitors.
Here are Baldwin County's newest bites.
Bahama Bob's
On a summer evening in July 2023, Bahama Bob's, a long-standing Gulf Shores staple, caught fire, but they are back. After months of work, the restaurant is once again serving patrons delicious seafood, burgers and hearty po-boys.
Café Viola
There's no need to travel to England to enjoy afternoon tea now that Café Viola has opened in Fairhope. The newest addition to the Fairhope food scene is more than just a tearoom. The menu is full of lunch and dinner options to satisfy everyone in the group. The menu includes classics like fish and chips, shrimp and grits, steak frites and more.

East Shore Café - Ice Cream
East Shore Café isn't new, but they recently opened an ice cream and milkshake room that is open Tuesday through Sunday. It's a perfect place to stop for a cold treat after a day of play.

Fire Smoked Fish Company
A Gulf Shores favorite recently got a new name. Brookman's Smokehouse recently rebranded and changed its name to Fire Smoked Fish Company. The announcement of the rebrand came last week. According to a recent post on its Facebook page, the rebrand is meant to better reflect its core specialty products. Either way, they still have the same delicious smoked products to fill your belly.
Jeremiah's Italian Ice
A new franchise brand has opened in Fairhope, and their sweet treats are worth a stop. Jeremiah's Italian Ice is a new brand for our area, but they boast 130 locations in 11 states. The treats on offer are not just Italian ice but a crazy combo of Italian ice, soft serve and toppings layered into what they call Gelati. The Fairhope location is in The Shops at Point Clear and boasts a drive-thru.

Milkshake Momma Burgers & Shakes
Milkshake Momma Burgers & Shakes opened in Orange Beach at the beginning of 2024 and is serving up massive milkshakes and savory food options. Whether you need lunch or a sweet after-school treat, they have something to please your palate.

Pelican Scoops
If you find yourself in the Waterway Village District in Gulf Shores, stop into Pelican Scoops for an ice cream cone. The new ice cream shop offers more than just cones. The menu includes cereal shakes, root beer floats and virgin bushwackers.

Saving Grace Kitchen
While Saving Grace Kitchen is about a year old, they have yet to make one of our lists. The Bay Minette restaurant cooks up a wide variety from burgers and wings to Baja tacos and seafood platters. End your meal on a sweet note with one of their delightful desserts which change regularly.
The Gathering Place
There's a new place to eat in Foley. The Gathering Place, once located in Summerdale, moved into downtown Foley this spring. The menu ranges from breakfast to dinner and everything in between.
