New Exploremores cookie joins Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama lineup for 2026 season

Posted

Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama is preparing to launch the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie season with a new flavor joining a lineup that has become a staple for supporters across the region and beyond.

Debuting this season is Exploremores, a rocky road ice cream–inspired sandwich cookie filled with chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond–flavored crème. The new cookie is designed to reflect the spirit of exploration that defines the Girl Scout experience. It will be sold alongside longtime favorites such as Thin Mints, Samoas and Tagalongs.

The annual cookie program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world and serves as a key funding source for Girl Scouts across southern Alabama. Proceeds from cookie sales remain local, supporting troop activities and council programs that include service projects, travel opportunities and summer camp experiences.

Through participation in the cookie program, Girl Scouts learn skills tied to goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. Those lessons begin early and grow with them, from young children discovering new interests to older Girl Scouts building confidence through leadership and outdoor adventures.

Community members who want to purchase cookies have several options. Customers who know a registered Girl Scout are encouraged to contact them directly to learn how they are selling this year. Those who do not know a Girl Scout can reach Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama by emailing CustomerCare@GirlScoutSSA.org.

Special promotions are also planned early in the season. On Dec. 13 and 14, the council will offer free shipping on orders of eight to 12 packages, with cookies expected to arrive before Christmas. Girl Scouts will have cookies in hand and many will sell door to door during Walkabout Weekend, scheduled for Jan. 9-11, 2026. Cookie booths are set to open across southern Alabama beginning Jan. 17.

The 2026 cookie program will conclude March 8.

This year’s national sponsor of the cookie program is Adobe, which will focus on encouraging girls to express their individuality and think creatively while pursuing their goals. Through an educational video featured on the Digital Cookie platform, Adobe will provide guidance on online communication and responsible digital design, supporting Girl Scouts as they develop skills as digital creators and young entrepreneurs.
