Naked woman found at Loxley truck stop

LOXLEY, Ala. — Police responding to a disturbance at Love’s Travel Stop in Loxley Tuesday evening got a little more than they bargained for.

Loxley police responded to a fight call around 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Highway 59 truck stop found a naked woman in her 20s outside the truck stop.

“When asked about her attacker, she pointed to a man exiting the truck stop,” said Maj. Anthony Lowery with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department. “He fled back into the truck stop and was arrested inside.”

Loxley Police called the Baldwin County Sheriff’s office to help with the investigation. Officer’s seized the vehicle and obtained a search warrant. FBI officials have also been called in to the investigation.

Roy Scott Stillwell, 47, of Hartville, Mo., was arrested on the scene and charged with kidnapping. The victim, who is described only as a white female, age 29, was taken to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley. Pending examination, Stillwell could face additional charges of rape and sodomy.

Lowery said it was believed that the woman was abducted in the Montgomery area.

“We believe he continued working his normal route with her bound in the truck,” Lowery said, “possibly for the last three or four days.”

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday morning Stillwell was being held at the Baldwin County Corrections Facility. A bond hearing was set for 1 p.m. Wednesday. Results from the bond hearing were not available at presstime.

Lowery said investigators were running a background check on Stillwell, but did not know about a prior record on if there were any outstanding warrants for his arrest.

“He’s facing a pretty big one right now, so it may not matter,” Lowery said.
