Mary Beth Murrell-Koenig, 48, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 after a two-year illness.
She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and later resided in Foley.
She graduated from Foley High School and later earned a licensed physical therapy assistant degree. She worked with handicapped children in several Baldiwn County schools as a licensed physical therapy assistant.
Survivors include her parents, Al and Mary Lou Murrell of Foley; her husband, Tom Koenig of Foley; two sons, David Campbell of Omaha, Neb., and Jeffrey Campbell of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; and two sisters, Kathy Main of Waukegan, Ill., and Ludy Macier of Lake Forest, Ill.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7 at Camp Beckwith Chapel.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Compassion International, Colorado Springs, Colo., the youth program at Camp Beckwith, St. Paul’e Episcopal Church of Foley, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Statesville, N.C., the Camp Beckwith Cursillo Fund, Kairos International Prison Ministry, Mercy Ships International, and any organizations that minister to our injured soldiers coming back from the world’s war torn regions.
