The event will take place on Sunday, May 4, from 1-6 p.m. at Bender Point, 3619 Riviere Du Chien Road in Mobile. Gates open at 12:30 p.m.
The event will feature live performances from headliner Jimmy Hall & Friends, Will Kimbrough & Friends and Red & the Revelers. Proceeds will benefit Dog River Clearwater Revival's (DRCR) efforts to improve water quality and public access along Dog River and its tributaries.
Tickets and Sponsorships General admission tickets are $35 through April 27, increasing to $45 on April 28. No tickets will be sold at the gate, and the event historically sells out. Tickets are available at www.dogriver.org/events/fundraisers/sponsor-info-mudbottom-revival-music-festival.
John Hunter, whose family is among this year's sponsors, said their support reflects a desire to protect Dog River for future generations.
"We are supporting Dog River Clearwater Revival because it is the best way to invest in protecting our wonderful river community for generations to come," Hunter said. "We want Dog River to be the core of our daughters' childhood memories. We want it to be even more beautiful in the future when they come back to visit or live with their families. This is truly a special place and deserves every effort to maintain its natural splendor."
Festival committee members highlighted the impact of previous sponsors, noting their contributions have helped DRCR install six litter traps in the watershed, preserve 291 acres of wetlands along Halls Mill Creek, and establish an 11-mile Scenic Blueway with six kayak launches along Dog River.
Jimmy Hall, a Mobile native, first gained national attention as the lead vocalist, saxophonist, and harmonica player for Wet Willie. The band's R&B-infused rock propelled their hit "Keep on Smilin'" into the Billboard Top 10 in 1974. Hall went on to release two solo albums and collaborated with artists such as Gregg Allman, Jason Isbell, and The Marshall Tucker Band. Since 1992, he has served as vocalist and bandleader for Hank Williams Jr. www.jimmyhall.com.
Will Kimbrough, a versatile singer-songwriter, has released 11 solo albums and performed with Todd Snider, Rodney Crowell, and Emmylou Harris. His production credits include Shemekia Copeland's Grammy-nominated albums.
Red & the Revelers, a high-energy swamp soul band led by Red Padilla, is known for its fiery performances featuring a full horn section and dynamic stage presence.
Dog River Clearwater Revival's Mission DRCR is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and improving public access and water quality for Dog River and its watershed. The group's recent accomplishments include removing 63 tires from a creek dump site, installing four Eagle reefs for water filtration and launching a new environmental scholarship program.
