Two Foley police officers sustained minor injuries after a vehicle collided with their patrol car during a traffic stop.

The officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation about 12:30 a.m. at the Foley Beach Express just south of CR 12. According to the department, another vehicle, driven by 43-year-old Braxton Mcmurphy of Mobile, struck the back of the police car during the stop on the other vehicle.

Both officers were transported to South Baldwin Hospital for evaluation, were treated and released.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency took over the investigation and charged Mcmurphy with DUI, LSA with injuries and ignition interlock violation.
