Morgan to present his latest book

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The public will have two opportunities to meet the writer of the January 2000 Oprah Book Club Selection.

Page & Palette Bookstore and the Fairhope Public Library have announced January’s Read It and Eat program will feature Robert Morgan, the New York Times bestselling author, who will read and sign his latest book, Boone: A Biography. The program will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, from 6-8 p.m. at the library.

As with many of the author events now, attendees are also invited to join in a classic game of BINGO before the reading. The game will start at 6 with lots of prizes, including books, gift certificates and much more. Wine and hours d’oeuvres will also be served with Morgan’s presentation beginning promptly at 6:30.

Those unable to attend the evening event will have the opportunity to meet Morgan earlier in the day.

He will also be a guest of the Federated Women’s Club of the Eastern Shore during the organization’s monthly book review at 1 p.m. at Dahlgren Hall on the Fairhope campus of Faulkner State Community College.

Boone is a commanding biography which transforms a mythic American hero into a flesh-and-blood man.

Morgan’s sweeping biography of Daniel Boone is the story of America — its ideals, its promise, its romance and its destiny. It is the most comprehensive book ever written about the man who was the largest spirit of his time.

Only books purchased at Page & Palette can be presented for author signing.

Both events are open to the public at no charge.
