Mobile Infirmary has been ranked the No. 3 hospital in Alabama in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Best Hospitals rankings, placing the Infirmary Health affiliate among the state’s highest-performing hospitals.
Mobile Infirmary tied for No. 3 on U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Hospitals list and was one of only six hospitals in Alabama to receive a statewide ranking this year, a news release said.
“Being named one of the top hospitals in Alabama is an honor for our entire team, but what matters most is what this recognition represents for our patients,” President of Mobile Infirmary Susan Boudreau said in the release. “Every day, people across our region trust us during some of the most important and challenging moments of their lives. This recognition reflects the skill, compassion, and dedication our physicians and team members bring to that responsibility every day.”
The hospital also received High Performing ratings in nine procedures and conditions: back surgery, including spinal fusion, diabetes, heart arrhythmia, heart attack, heart failure, hip replacement, lung cancer surgery, pacemaker implantation and prostate cancer surgery.
The ratings recognize strong performance in care spanning cardiovascular services, cancer surgery, orthopedics and the management of complex medical conditions.
Mobile Infirmary also received recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s new Regional Specialty rankings, which were introduced for the first time this year. The hospital ranked No. 3 in Alabama for rehabilitation, including care provided through J.L. Bedsole/Rotary Rehabilitation Hospital.
That ranking placed Mobile Infirmary among only six hospitals statewide recognized in the rehabilitation specialty.
U.S. News & World Report evaluates thousands of hospitals across the country each year in specialties, procedures and conditions. Its Best Hospitals rankings are designed to help patients and physicians make informed decisions about health care.
