Missing Baldwin EMC vehicle is recovered

SUMMERDALE — A stolen Baldwin EMC vehicle has been recovered.

“Baldwin EMC received word this morning that the 2005 Chevy Silverado pickup stolen last week has been recovered by law enforcement,” Baldwin EMC spokesperson Rebecca Shobe said in a news release Monday.

The Summerdale-based utility company that serves the county reported that one of its vehicles was allegedly stolen from the Tensaw community sometime Thursday night or Friday morning.

The 2005 white Chevy Silverado extended cab 4x4, sported Baldwin EMC emblems on both the passenger and driver side doors. And while Baldwin EMC did express concern about getting the vehicle back, they also feared that the vehicle could be used to impersonate a Baldwin EMC employee.

However, all of those fears were laid to rest upon Monday’s recovery of the vehicle.

“The truck is reported to be in the possession of the Mobile Police Department and is reported to be drivable,” Shobe said.

No additional details were available at press time.
