Mildred Downing Ward, born Feb. 24, 1932. Mrs. Ward went home to be with her Lord after a long illness of Alzheimer’s on Feb. 25, 2016.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family.
Mrs. Ward retired from Fovil Manufacturing Co. She was devoted to her church, Gulfway Assembly, and charter member of Foley First Assembly.
She will be dearly missed by those she mentored, cared for, knew and loved her.
She now has a new and well body in heaven; no more sickness. She is able to have a new life and happiness with Jesus.

We will miss and always love you for the great Mother and wife you were to us.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl J. Downing; parents, Fred and Gertrude Cochran; brothers, Wilford Cochran, Morris Cochran, Ray Cochran; and sister, Lois Powell.
She leaves to cherish her precious memoires, her sole surviving brother, Frank Cochran (Janice); husband, Bobby Ward; children, Ken (Sheila) Downing, Brenda (John) Govan, Douglas (Karan) Downing; grandchildren, LTC John (Shelly) Govan III, Christopher (April) Govan; great-grandchildren, Avery Govan, Gracie Govan, Annie Govan and Jack Bradley Govan; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends at Gulfway Assembly, 541 Cotton Creek Dr., Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, from 2 until 3.
A celebration of her life will follow at 3 p.m.
Interment will follow in Lay Cemetery, Miflin, Ala.
