Bicentennial scholar and author, Mike Bunn, will be returning to the Foley Public Library to give a presentation on the “Creek War & War of 1812” as it concerns the state of Alabama. Bunn gave a presentation back in January 2019 on the tumultuous beginnings of the state. His presentation was so well received, he has been invited back on Tuesday, June 4, at 2 p.m., to discuss this further history of Alabama.
Bunn is a public historian who has spent the entirety of his career researching, writing, and speaking about the Deep South’s history and culture. He is author of several books on Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi history, and a frequent contributor to publications such as Alabama Heritage magazine.
Bunn is currently Director of Operations at Historic Blakeley State Park in Spanish Fort, a 2,000-acre site within the scenic Mobile-Tensaw Delta preserving the sites of the territorial-era town of Blakeley, the Civil War Battle of Fort Blakeley, and colonial era and Native American occupations.
Seating is limited and reservations are required for this presentation. Please contact the library at 251-943-7665 to reserve a seat. You can also visit the library’s website at www.foleylibrary.org for more information or check the library’s Facebook page or Instagram account.
