Michael “Mike” Davis, born April 13, 1924 near Citronelle, and a resident of Bay Minette, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at William F. Green State Veterans Home.
He grew up in south Alabama before joining the Navy in 1942. His 20 year career included service in Would War II and the Korean War with the Marines, followed by numerous assignments in the USA and oversees. After retiring from the military, Mike had a varied career, including a small business owner of a truck stop in Seminole and a restaurant in Spanish Fort and as a truck driver. Mike was preceded in death by his lovely and loving wife, Virginia Mae Brunson Davis, who died in 1979 and his second wife, Agnes Virginia Davis who died in 2010. Mike is survived by his four children. His daughters, Sue Ellen (Danny) Buck of Bay Minette, and Marsha Davis of Spanish Fort; and sons, Carrol (Phyllis) Davis of Roswell, Ga., and George (Nancy) Davis of Orlando, Fla; his sisters, Dorothy Rodgers of Pensacola, Cora Lee (James) Morris of Yulee, Fla., and Eula Glenda Myers of Saraland. His family includes nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette.
