Michael D. Stockwell, 45, a lifelong resident of Elberta, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 in Foley.
Michael had served more than 20 years in law enforcement, having joined Orange Beach Police Department in early 2004.
Michael was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Elberta, the Fraternal Order of Police and National Rifle Association.
Michael was an avid Star Wars fan, a well-know Trekkie, gun collector, hunter and fisherman.
Survivors of Michael Stockwell include his two daughters, Haily and Callie Stockwell of Elberta; Kerin Kincey, (mother of Haliy and Callie); parents, Dale and Joyce Stockwell of Elberta; two sisters, Kathleen (Bruce) Thrift and Shelley Stockwell of Elberta; nieces, Catlin, Kelsey and Savannah Thrift, all of Elberta; nephews, David, Ryan and Garrett Thrift of Elberta; and very special friend, Mary Frances Sims.
There will be a visitation for Michael Stockwell, Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Elberta, with the service starting at 2.
Burial will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.
The family has suggested that memorial donation be made in lieu of flowers to Centennial Bank of Orange Beach in Michael Stockwell’s memory, or to The Heroes Memorial Foundation Inc. at heroesmemorials.org.
