Melanie Elaine Godwin, 39, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at North Baldwin Infirmary.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joline Russell Godwin, and a brother, Dewey Wesley Godwin Jr.
Survivors include her father, Dewey W. Godwin Sr. of Bay Minette; brother, Russell Godwin of Bay Minette; two sisters, Karen Godwin Helms of Bay Minette and Sara Jo (Jeff) Hembree of Winston Salem, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Marcia (Jody) Hastings of Bay Minette, Monica (Michael) Walker of Bay Minette, Jeremy Hembree (Devon Burleson) of Winston Salem, Morgan Hembree (Grant Baker) of Ashville, N.C., Courtney Godwin (Keith Brooks) of Pensacola, Fla., Daniel Godwin of Tuscaloosa and Candace Godwin of Bay Minette; grand nieces and grand nephews, Madison Hastings, Mallory Hastings and Landen Walker, all of Bay Minette.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 15 at the First Presbyterian Chu7rch with the Rev. Ronald Stone and the Rev. Taylor Morgan officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Albert Jaye, Buddy Yarbrough, Emmett Hall, John Jenkins, Charles McCormick, Red Wilkins, Dick Bijomas and Ebie Ball. Honorary pallbearers were the Red Had Belles.
