Robert Edward McLaughlin Sr., 75, a native of Bolinger and a resident of the Pine Grove community of Bay Minette, died Saturday, July 7, 2007 at his residence.
He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict and was the former owner and operator of Gunter’s Foodmart in Tolmenville, before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sue Trest.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Carolyn McLaughlin; four sons, Robert (Laurel Ann) McLaughlin Jr. of Dothan, Dan (Mary W.) McLaughlin Sr. of Fowl River, Terry McLaughlin of Pine Grove and John (Angela) McLaughlin of Pine Grove; two brothers, Henry Arthur “Bud” McLaughlin of Eight Mile and Donald Fleming of Foley; sister, Hazel Louise Farnell of Mobile; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 9 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home. Burial was in Bay Minette Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terry McLaughlin, Dan McLaughlin Sr., John McLaughlin, J.D. Trest, Dan McLaughlin Jr. and Chuck McLaughlin.
