Kennon starts Go Fund Me account to help pay moving costs of Trump detractors

ORANGE BEACH, AL – For the most part, Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon likes to keep his political leanings off of social media, but just this one time, his honor said, he couldn’t resist.

Kennon posted on Facebook that he has started a Go Fund Me account to raise money to help celebrities who said if Donald Trump won the presidency they would move out of the United States.

“I never use my Facebook to be political, but I am making an exception this time,” the mayor wrote. “Out of compassion and empathy, I have created a GoFundMe campaign entitled ‘Don't Let The Screen Door Hit You’ to provide bus tickets to Tijuana, Mexico for all those celebrities, athletes, and other high-minded elitists who are traumatized by the new Trump era.”

“Let us not forget those who promised to leave the country if Trump won.”

After all, Kennon continues, it’s the least he and other Trump backers can do for the losing Democrats.

“For us loving and sensitive Trump supporters, it is imperative that we help those downtrodden, multi-millionaire Hillary supporters find a better quality of life in Mexico or any other third world country for that matter and in the process, help them gain a little perspective of reality instead of their worthless hyperbole,” his post continues. “And remember, #DontLetTheScreenDoorHitYou. #Election2016 #DonaldTrump #HillaryClinton.

“Be sure to share with your friends.”

According to the page, on Nov. 9 Bob “Fatback” Green contributed $10 toward the stated goal of $10 million. As of 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 no other contributions were pledged.
