Max Alton Phillips

Max Alton Phillips, 79, of Loxley, Ala., passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015.

Mr. Phillips was a retired accountant and a United States Air Force veteran.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather; he always provided and cared for his family, enjoyed playing all high school sports, was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting and fishing, a member of Loxley Presbyterian Church, founding member of Loxley Volunteer Fire Dept., attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, and enjoyed coaching Little League baseball.

Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Keuler Phillips; son, Max Weston (Robin) Phillips of Loxley, Ala.; daughter, Brenda Gates Long; brother, John M. (Debra) Phillips Jr. of Robertsdale, Ala.; six grandchildren, Sabrina, Chelsea, Michelle, Anna, Keuler and Trenton; and one great-granddaughter, Callie.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at 2 p.m., at the Loxley Presbyterian Church.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Loxley, Ala.
