Mary Virginia Makin Doss, 88, of Magnolia Springs departed this life on Oct. 15, 2013 surrounded by the love of her family.
Mary Virginia was born to the late Arthur and Lorene Makin on Oct. 14, 1925.
She was married to the late LCDR Paul Earl Doss on Jan. 29, 1947 at Huffman United Methodist Church — the love of her life.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Mary Virginia traveled the world, created a beautiful family and legacy.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, LCDR Paul Earl Doss; parents, Arthur and Lorene Makin; and brothers and sisters, Arthur Makin, Walter Makin, Margaret Heilman and Lurene Makin.
Mary is survived by four children, Paul (Debbie) Doss, Walter (Reya) Doss, William (Judy) Doss and Patricia (Greg) Cox; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A remembrance viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale.
She will make her final journey to Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Ala. to rest next to her husband of 42 years. Graveside services will be Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
