Mary Gayle Hightower Walker went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
She leaves behind her loving husband, C. Wayne Walker; son, Grant David Walker; sister, Suzy Hightower Bellamy (Gary); and brother, John William Hightower III. She also leaves her two beloved cats, Junior Skittles and very special gift, Barkley. She also leaves behind a large contingency of awesome friends as Mary was well known as a “friend collector.”
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John William Hightower Jr. (Sylvia).
Mary was born in Marianna, Fla. in April 1957. She was a graduate of Dots Tots Kindergarten, Marianna High School, Chipola Junior College and a proud graduate of Harrison School of Pharmacy of Auburn University. She began her pharmacy career path at her family’s third-generation Marianna “drug store” Hightower’s.
Mary was an active member of Fairhope United Methodist Church, Page Turners Book Club and was the former co-chair of the Eastern Shore Outdoor Art Show.
The family received friends in the sanctuary at Fairhope United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 9, 2016 with the celebration of life following.
