Mary Evelyn Sandlin Andreasen, 95, of Gulf Shores, passed away Dec. 28, 2013.
Mary was a native of Alabama who served in the United States Navy during WWII, and retired from Foley High School after teaching for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur M. Andreasen Sr.; and her son, Arthur M. Andreasen Jr.
She is survived by a brother, Joe (Natalie) Sandlin; a sister, Nell Dabbs; her sons, Andreas (Jana) Andreasen of Gulf Shores and James (Deborah) Andreasen of Mobile; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Feb. 15, 2014, at 2 p.m., at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church.
There will be a military escort by the Patriot Guard to Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley to honor Mary’s military service during WWII, at which time flags will be placed at the gravesite.
