Mary D. “Pat” Howard, 98, born in East Hampton, Mass., and a resident of Fairhope, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011.
She married the love of her life, John Howard, in 1941, moved to Miami in 1945 and spent summers at their Seneca Lake cottage. He had his business, Howard Aircraft, and she had hers, their five children and later their six grandchildren.
After his death, she moved to Fairhope in 2003. She was a devoted Catholic and lived her life accordingly. She was well loved and cared for by the staff at Carroll Place and Mercy Medical Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Howard; and six siblings.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan Howard of St. Petersburg, Fla., Laura Russell of San Francisco and Kathy Howard of Daphne; sons, Dan Howard of Miami and Andy (Sara) Howard of Fairhope; grandchildren, Elizabeth Lynch, Jennifer Dreese, Adam Balaban, A.J. Howard, Michelle Howard, Will Howard.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fairhope.
