Marion William Jones, 81, born in Georgiana, Ala. and a resident of Bay Minette, died Friday, July 19, 2013 at North Baldwin Infirmary.
He was a policeman (retired) for the city of Mobile. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by two sons, Tommy L. Jones of Milton, Fla. and Gerry D. Lee of Lakeland, Fla.; two daughters, Teresa Dykes of Milton and Wanda Schreiner of Mobile; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Dykes officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
A visitation for Mr. Jones was held Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 9 a.m. until the 10 service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Tom Jones, Joseph Dykes, Zach Dykes, Ollie B. Dykes, David Dykes and Frank Beasley. Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Schreiner and Howard Wilson.
