"font-family:">Marian Gantt McMillan, 95, born May 14, 1916 in Little River and a resident of Stockton, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011.
"font-family:">Mrs. McMillan attended Troy State Teacher’s College (now Troy University). She taught second grade at Bay Minette Elementary School for nine years.
"font-family:">Community involvement was a vital part of her life. She held leadership positions in the Fort Mims Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, William Smith Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, the Stockton Fine Arts Club, Seventh District Alabama Federation of Women’s Club and the PTA.
"font-family:">In the Stockton Presbyterian Church, she served as Presbyterian Women moderator and Circle chairman as well as Sunday school teacher, Bible school leader and choir member.
"font-family:">She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Neil McMillan; her parents, Cleveland and Lillian Labuzan Gantt; and her brothers, Charles Edward Gantt and Ralph Fitzerland Gantt.
"font-family:">She is survived by her children, Helen McMillan (Thomas) Wooten of Clemson, S.C. and Raymond Neil McMillan Jr. of Stockton; four grandchildren, Marian Hinnant Wooten of Lumberton, N.C., Eugenia Wooten (Brent) Iredale of Atlanta, Ga., Raymond Talmage Wooten of Greenville, S.C. and Raymond Neil McMillan III of Josephine; one great-grandchild, William Thomas Iredale of Atlanta, Ga; a sister-in-law, Madie McMillan of Stockton; and other relatives.
"font-family:">The memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at 3 p.m., at the Stockton Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
