Margaret “Maggie” Jerkins

Margaret “Maggie” Jerkins, a native of Evergreen and longtime resident of Stapleton, passed away April 16, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William S Jerkins Sr.

She is survived by four daughters, Ann (Mike) Faircloth of Florida, Eulane (Mike) Jerkins of Stapleton, Beverly Young of Orange Beach and Rhonda (Bill) Red of Bay Minette; one son, William S Jerkins Jr. of Mississippi; two stepsons, Edward and Alan Jerkins of Florida; three adopted children, Derek, Dempsey and Darlene Jerkins, all of Alabama; three brothers, Horace, Edmond Sims Jr. and David Faulk, all of Alabama; two sisters, Jewel Faulk of Mississippi and Ann Painter of Florida; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a lifetime member of the Builders Club for Boys and Girls Ranch Baldwin County. She was voted Waitress of the Year, winning out over 2,000 other waitresses.

She also served as a foster parent.

Funeral services were held April 18, 2013 at the Stapleton Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
