Mardi Gras traffic plan in Gulf Shores

The City of Gulf Shores updated residents and visitor of the following road closures and traffic flow modifications related to the 2015 Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade on Tuesday, February 17. Start time for the parade is 10:00 a.m., proceeding from Clubhouse Drive southbound on Ala. Hwy 59 and then east on Beach Blvd.

Tuesday, February 17

9:00 a.m.

• W. 20th Avenue will be closed to all traffic between W. 1st Street and Highway 59 to allow for the lineup of parade entries. All parade entries are encouraged to travel east on E. 20th Avenue to E. 2nd Street and under the W.C. Holmes Bridge via E. 22nd Avenue to access parade lineup.

9:40 a.m.
• Traffic heading south on Highway 59 will be diverted east along E. 20th Avenue

9:50 a.m.
• Traffic will no longer be allowed to travel north at the intersection at Highway 59 and Fort Morgan Road.

10:00 a.m.

• The intersection at Fort Morgan Road and Highway 59 will be closed to all traffic.
• All entrances to Highway 59 between Clubhouse Drive and Highway 182 will be closed to traffic until the completion of the parade.

10:30 a.m.
• The intersection of West Beach Boulevard and East Beach Boulevard will closed to all traffic to allow the parade route to continue along East Beach Boulevard

12:00 p.m.
• All normal traffic conditions resume.
