Alan Tuellio Marana, 59, a native of Hermansville, Mich., and a resident of Daphne for the past five years, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at a local hospital.

He retired from Boise Cascade Co. after a 30-year career in the paper industry. He was an avid golfer and loved wood-working and restoring cars. He was a graduate of Michigan Technological University and attended Christ the King Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Marana of Daphne; his mother, Edith Marana of Marinette, Wis.; daughter, Sara M. (Gary) Brightbill of Mobile; son, Nicholas Alan Marana of Chicago; sister, Amy J. (Greg) Hayden of Riverside, Calif.; brother, John W. Marana of Powers, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Christine Marana of Powers, Mich., and Jean (Wayne) Sunila of Menominee, Mich.; brothers-in-law, James (Toni) Behrend of Powers, Mich., and David (Ginny_ Behrend of Green Bay, Wis.; and three grandchildren, Matthew, Mark and Nathan Brightbill, all of Mobile.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 715 College Ave., Daphne. Burial will be next month in Hermansville, Mich.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
