GULF SHORES, Ala. -- Police officers were dispatched to Fort Morgan Marina (1577Fort Morgan Road) this morning at 5:43 a.m. after GSPD Communications received a call that a body was discovered floating face down in the water. When officers arrived a deceased man was found in the water near the docks. The manner of death is unknown and still under investigation. The Baldwin County Coroner arrived and an autopsy was ordered. The body was sent to the Department of Forensic Sciences in Mobile.

The identity of the deceased man has been determined to be Jerry Lynn Mott of Magnolia Springs. He was 67 years old.

Foul play is not suspected however this investigation is ongoing.
