ELBERTA, Ala. — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and the Elberta Police Department have announced an arrest in a cocaine trafficking operation in Elberta.
On July24, an undercover agent with the Baldwin County Drug Task Force made a money drop to a cocaine supplier for cocaine previously fronted to him.
The suspect took the money and fronted the undercover agent another six ounces of cocaine. Surveillance was maintained on the residence until a search warrant could be obtained.
The Drug Task Force and Elberta PD executed a search warrant at 27235 County Road 26 in Elberta. This is the residence of Robert Lynn Weatherford, 36, and his fiancée Randi Roberts.
Approximately one quarter ounce of marijuana, approximately three ounces of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and $2,139 in cash was seized during the search — $600 of which was buy money.
The total amount of cocaine seized in this operation is approximately 11 ounces.
Weatherford was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana 2nd degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. Weatherford is being held in the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Corrections Center on $2 million bond.
This is part of an ongoing investigation and additional arrests are likely.
