Dr. Edwin D. “Doc” Malone, 69, a native of Mobile and resident of Silverhill, died Saturday, March 21, 2009.
He was a graduate of Auburn University Veterinarian School. He is retired from the United States Department of Agriculture after nearly 30 years especially working the lower half of Alabama in livestock auctions. He was a member of the American Orchid Society and the American Federation of Aviculture; worked with other animal disease control programs; and he spent four years in Miami with U.S.D.A. in the Import/Export Station.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret G. Malone of Silverhill; daughter, Nikki Carole (Mike) Holland of Pensacola, Fla.; sister, Mary Pfeiffer of Daphne; and two grandchildren, Grace Miree Roat and Brody Conner Holland.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 25 from the chapel of Mack Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Bedsole officiating.
