DAPHNE, Ala.—The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will donate $12,775 worth of potentially life-saving equipment to the Spanish Fort Fire Rescue.
The donation of an inflatable fire safety house will take place at 10:30 a.m. on June 8 in Malbis. Spanish Fort Fire Rescue will use the house as an educational tool, which will simulate a burning home while firefighters explain the safest ways to deal with a fire in a building.
The foundation donated equipment to the Daphne Fire Department in 2008.
Scott Allday, franchisee of the Malbis location, said the cause is important to him.
“You never know when you or someone close to you will be personally impacted by the life-saving capabilities of a first responder,” Allday stated in a press release.
Funds to purchase the equipment were raised by collections at restaurant locations, as well as the sale of five-gallon pickle buckets for $2 each.
