Pumpkin Pie is one of those pies that have just always been around. It’s not too sweet, and yet oh-so-good! No holiday should be without a pumpkin pie. It’s usually thought of as a Thanksgiving dessert, but it is a great dessert for Christmas gatherings, too.
And there’s no reason pumpkin pie has to be difficult to make. With all the other preparations and dishes you’ll be making, there’s no reason to worry over this dessert. This recipe makes two to three pies, depending on what size shells you use, and it takes less than 10 minutes to put it all together before you pop it into the oven.
This recipe is especially meaningful to me. I had a nephew, who at an early age loved to help me in the kitchen when he came to visit. This recipe was one that he could mix together; and he did year after year. While still a teenager, he lost his life to leukemia, so naturally, every year around the holidays when I bake a pumpkin pie, I think of Jason.
Other side dishes will follow to help you create an easy gourmet holiday meal.
