MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Ala. — Magnolia Springs Library concluded its “Great Green Turkey Creek Monster Reading Challenge” Saturday with a splash.

The summer-reading program ended with a celebration hosted by Nellie and Joe Bohannon at Magnolia Springs Golf Course.

“Those dear people are allowing our participants to enjoy their huge water slide, and they are cooking hot dogs for the kids,” Magnolia Springs Librarian Alida Given said. “I am overwhelmed at their generosity.”

Top winners in each reading group received gift certificates for dinner for two at Jessie’s restaurant in Magnolia Springs. They are: Giacamo Stefanelli, Gracie Warriner, Emma Mattox and Sarah Grace Martin.

In addition, all 18 participants received medals. While presenting them, Given congratulated the recipients for their efforts this summer.

“You are great readers,” she said. “Just keep it up.”
