Magnolia Springs Council to purchase two new speed limit radar signs

MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Ala. - The Magnolia Springs Town Council unanimously approved a motion Tuesday to purchase two new radar speed limit signs for Magnolia Springs Highway.

The idea to purchase came as a recommendation from the Public Works Committee, Councilman Brett Gaar said, and the two solar panel signs would cost $14,000.

“We want to do it before the end of this fiscal year,” he said, noting around $17,000 was left in the committee’s 2011-2012 fiscal year budget.

The signs are permanent, and the hope is to lower speeds of drivers along the highway.
