In Mrs. Christopher’s kindergarten class they went on a field trip to the Exploreum. In science class they are studying insects. For reading class they are learning about trains. In math class they are working on addition and subtraction. For technology they use the Smartboard to learn more about math and reading. One of the things students like about Mrs. Christopher’s is to play in the workstations.
Mrs. Middleton’s first grade class is learning a lot about addition and fact families. In reading they are reading a story called The Mole and the Baby Bird. In Science they are exploring animals and nature. They are learning about the different types of communication available on the computer. The class is elated to use their Smartboard more often now.
Ms. Cote’s 1st grade class is being very productive with their learning. In science they are learning about insects and making ladybugs art project. They also are reading a story about ladybugs. They received a new Smartboard, which they use for bunches of math activities. The students think Ms. Cote is nice and likes to prepare them for second grade a lot.
In Mrs. Sisk’s 2nd grade class, the students observed evaporation in the water cycle. They have been learning about their Smartboard and playing Nerf ball games. In math, they have been making graphs, line charts, and telling time. Students are working on AR tests and reading the last unit of their reading book. The students love their new Smartboard and the treasure box.
In Ms. Simmons’ 3rd grade class, they are reading a story about the Statue of Liberty and how people built it. In math they are working on place value and rounding. They are enjoying that their ARMT practice is over.
Last week, Mrs. Ramsey’s 4th grade class was spending lots of time preparing for the reading ARMT. They practiced in their ARMT workbooks. They got good nights’ sleep, good breakfasts, and did their best on the test. They read all of their answer choices, and on open ended questions they restated their prompt. Mrs. Ramsey’s class was ready for the ARMT!
In Mrs. Watson’s fifth grade class, they colored and decorated their names for a spring bulletin board. Students use the computer labs and laptops to work on Compass Learning lessons. In math the students are reviewing everything they’ve learned this year. Their favorite thing about Mrs. Watson’s class is that they use the Smartboard.
In Mrs. Williams’ 6th grade class, they are learning about soil in their science class. They spent last week preparing for the ARMT (Alabama Reading and Math Test). To prepare for these tests, they used their ARMT coach books. In those books they have similar questions to what they experienced on the test. Their favorite thing about Mrs. Williams is how exciting she is.
