Maggie Taylor Findley, 88, a native of Canoe, Ala. and a longtime resident of Stapleton, died at her residence Friday, Nov. 15, 2013.
She retired from Malbis Bakery at an early age to become a fulltime mom. After raising her son she worked as a sales person for a clothing store.
In her spare time she studied art under the late Von Williams and became an accomplished artist.
She is survived by her son, John David Findley of Warner Robins, Ga.; her adopted family, David (Jodi) Gatlin of Stapleton, Coty Gatlin, U.S. Marine Corps, San Diego, Calif., Brent Gatlin and Joshua Ishee, both of Stapleton; and one great-niece, Kelly Murphy of Mount Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther “Luke” Findley.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at 2 p.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Weaver officiating.
Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Stapleton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mark Kennedy, David Gatlin, Coty Gatlin, Nick Murphy, Alton Murphy and Joshua Ishee.
