Madeline (Maddy) O’Toole

On May 3, 2022, Madeline (Maddy) O’Toole died unexpectedly at her home in Spanish Fort, Alabama. She was 85 years old.

Madeline was born on May 10, 1936, in Camden, New Jersey. She graduated from Woodbury High School, Woodbury, New Jersey and went on to attend Rutgers University, in New Jersey where she graduated with a degree in English Literature.

Madeline is survived by her Sister Jennifer Kurtz-Wlodarczyk (John), nephews: Eric V. Kurtz (Megan), Joseph Ignatius, Nick Ignatius (Diane), nieces; Kate Harrison (Trent) and other grandnieces, grandnephews and many other loving relatives, friends, and neighbors.

Maddy was an active member of the Daphne Senior Center, where she would go and participate in many of their activities. Madeline was an avid reader, she was a card-carrying member of the Daphne Public Library, her love of books was surpassed only by her love of the movies, especially Star Wars and Superheroes. Maddy was a Kohl’s employee for over 10 years. She loved her job and had many coworkers as friends. She was always ready to participate in their local events “Kohl’s Days” servicing the surrounding communities. 

A gathering was held Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne. In lieu of flowers, please support the Daphne Public Library.
