LuLu’s has appointed veteran musician and sound designer Karl Langley as its new Talent Booking Manager, a move aimed at strengthening and unifying the live music experience across its Gulf Shores and Destin, Florida locations.

According to a news release, Langley will oversee all aspects of live music booking, production and logistics, shaping a cohesive strategy that reinforces music as a defining part of the LuLu’s brand. The role includes curating artists, managing production standards and aligning performances with the Buffett family legacy and the Gulf Coast’s deep musical roots.

The appointment formalizes responsibilities Langley has already been handling at both locations, expanding his leadership focus to intentional programming and operational consistency as live music continues to play a central role in the guest experience.

Langley brings decades of experience in live performance, recording and large-scale production. A former Nappie Award recipient for Best Area Drummer, he has performed with a range of local and regional artists, including David Wilcox, Grayson Capps and Will Kimbrough. His background also includes sound design work for major theatrical productions in New York City, including "Godspell JR.," "Newsies JR." and the pilot premiere of "How to Train Your Dragon JR." at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park.

Beyond LuLu’s, Langley operates Green Room Studio in Fairhope, offers private music instruction and serves as an educator at W.J. Carroll Intermediate School in Daphne. Each summer, he travels to Maine as Head of Music Production at Camp Laurel and Rockport Recording Studio in Readfield, where he mentors young musicians and oversees recording projects.

LuLu’s, known for blending coastal cuisine with family-friendly entertainment, has long positioned live music as a cornerstone of its atmosphere. Company leaders said Langley’s expanded role reflects a commitment to elevating that tradition across all locations as the brand continues to grow along the Gulf Coast.
