ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – A teenager who reportedly fell from a 5th floor balcony in Orange Beach this morning has died. Police have not released his identity. Earlier today Orange Beach Assistant Police Chief Greg Duck said the person was a 17-year-old male from Lafayette, La., vacationing with his parents.

Duck said he fell out of a breezeway on the north, or non-beach side, of the building. Orange Beach police continue investigating the fall, which occurred at Tidewater Condominiums in the city. The fall happened between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.Tuesday. The incident is the second death of a teenage tourist from an Orange Beach condo balcony fall in barely the past half-month. Both deceased teens happened to be from Louisiana.

The victim was Lifeflighted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where he underwent emergency surgery and later passed away.

Duck said his parents were sleeping and unaware he had fallen.

On July 19th an apparent fall from a 16th-floor balcony of Turquoise Place in Orange Beach claimed the life of 18-year-old Challenge Talbot, from Thibodaux, La.
