ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – An 18-year-old Louisiana man was found dead this morning face down in a pool at Turquoise Place and police are investigating.

Orange Beach Police Chief Billy Wilkins identified the man as Challenge Talbot, 18, from Thibodaux, La., who was staying with friends. Wilkins said foul play was not suspected.

“He fell or he jumped, we don’t know which, from the 16th floor of Turquoise condominiums,” Wilkins said. “He was found face down in the pool about 3:45 a.m. The impact, as far as we can tell, was in the pool. There were no witnesses. The body was seen by some people out for a walk and they reported it to a security guard.”

Wilkins said the first officer on the scene started CPR, but Talbot was pronounced dead upon arrival to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.

“We’ve interviewed a lot of people,” Wilkins said. “We don’t know at this time why or if he jumped or if it was accidental. We’re not going to speculate at this time.

“We don’t know if alcohol or drugs were involved and we’re not really going to speculate if it was. That will be determined with some toxicology tests.”
