BAY MINETTE — The Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Department will kick off a second round of countywide public workshops Monday, July 11, to help prepare a long-range land use plan.

The meetings will continue Tuesday, July 12 and will also include a live webinar July 19.

The meetings will be used in long-range planning to update the existing land use guide and are only for zoned areas of the county. Land use guides are required by law in Baldwin County.

An area becomes zoned if residents petition the County Commission to create a planning district. Voters in the district must approve the creation of a zoning district by approving the move in a referendum.

Four community workshops will be held.

On Monday, July 11, a workshop will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Rosinton United Methodist Church at 26011 Baldwin Beach Expressway in Robertsdale.

A meeting will also take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 11 at Durant Chapel Baptist Church, 9551 Baldwin County 138 in Bay Minette.

On Tuesday, July 12, a meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Oak Hollow Lodge at 14210 South Greeno Road in Fairhope.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, July 12 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Freedom Now Christian Fellowship at 27116 U.S. 98 in Elberta.

The webinar will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 19. The link can be accessed at www.BaldwinOurVision.com under the "Upcoming Meetings" section.

This process is intended to provide public input to help county officials address future growth. Anyone wanting more information can contact the Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Department at (251) 580-1655 or go to www.BaldwinOurVision.com.
