BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Atmore/Bay Minette Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Inc. recognized some of its membership at its Chapter Founders Day meeting.
During the ceremony Polemarch Vinson J. Bradley of Bay Minette presented achievement awards to several members for their dedicated work throughout the years for the fraternity.
They included: Brother Robert Thomas of Brewton, retired Social Science Division chair for Faulkner State Community College; Brother Willie J. Grissett of Atmore, retired principal for Escambia County Schools; Brother James C. Cox of Bay Minette, retired assistant school superintendent for Baldwin County Schools; and Brother Dr. Ulysses McBride of Atmore, retired president for Reid State Community College and Bishop State Community College.
Each was presented an Achievement Award for their leadership as charter members of the Atmore Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Incorporated.
“Without these men’s willingness to look adversity in the face when many said starting a chapter here was impossible none of us would be able to call this our home chapter,” Bradley said. “That is the ultimate achievement within itself.”
Bradley also recognized Brother Chris Norman from Bay Minette with a plaque as the speaker for the 2017 Founders Day Meeting.
