Fairhope author Pat Marshall Peacock is scheduled to speak and sign her latest novel, Gypsy Carousel, April 28, from 2-4 p.m., at Page & Palette, 32 S. Section St. in Fairhope.

Growing up for some young people seems to just come naturally. All they have to do is place one foot in front of the other. Life will just proceed and maturity will come.

But that was not the case for little Annie. She had to worry and evaluate every situation and help make things work out. Her family found themselves in the middle of a variety of “unlikely predicaments” and they had to be ready to respond.

Gypsy Carousel gives you both a turn-of-the-era reality check and a future full of hope and expectation. This is also a wonderful opportunity for young, aspiring writers to attend to gain direction and inspiration

Peacock worked for several major financial institutions in California, Colorado, Texas and Alabama before pursing her goal of writing novels.

From the start, as news editor of her high school newspaper, she knew her passion was reporting and writing stories. Now, many creative writing classes and years later, her dreams are a reality with this fictional novel.
